Hello !
During the 5 days and nights at your hotel, my wife and I had a very pleasant time. All the staff were very kind and helped us whole heartedly. The room-309 was nice and quiet, capital breakfast also.
We enjoyed the Renaissance Cultural Inheritances in Padova, Vicenza, Ferrara and Venezia satisfactorily.
We love You, Alcason, Padova and Italy !
Thank you very much. GRAZE MILE !!!
Yours, Eiichiro e Yoshiko Okamoto
Hi,
We had a great time and i will definitely recommend your hotel.
Thank you for your kindness and making our stay even more memorable!
Srdačan pozdrav / Best regards,

“Great Italian Hotel!”
Reviewed December 9, 2011 from Tripadvisor
We stayed four nights and enjoyed our home away from home. Hotel staff very friendly and seemed like family. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of food to start your day. Being near the train station made this hotel even more convenient to attractions. Would highly recommend this fine hotel!
Room Tip: If you are a family of four make it clear to them that you need two double beds, otherwise you’ll get a large king bed and small twin, the “triple.”
“Extraordinary value at Al Cason”
December 4, 2011 from Tripadvisor
My wife and I spent a total of 8 nights at Al Cason Oct./Nov., 2011. We give our strongest recommendations for staying here to easily visit both Padova and Venice. We are veteran B&B owners in U.S.(25 years), so are acquainted with most elements of small lodging hospitality. Al Cason
succeeds admirably in offering modern, clean room accommodations, a lavish breakfast spread,
evening meals at very good value. At least six members of the Salmaso family tend to the smooth operation of the hotel, once the center of a large estate of their ancestors. The character of the hotel
reflects their obvious attention to efficiency and all elements of an honest, natural hospitality. Not just an unexpected great value but an experience that will be remembered.

“Great value, handy location”
Reviewed November 28, 2011 from Tripadvisor
We wanted a clean, nice, reasonably priced location near the train station and Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, and the Al Cason worked out very well. About an eight minute walk west of the station (also the tram stop to head downtown) and about 12 minutes from the chapel, it was very handy. Both walks are flat. Like many train stations, the immediate area outside appeared iffy at night, but not a problem near the hotel. We were there the last week of September, and the nights were balmy for al fresco dinners on the piazzas downtown. Quick cab ride back to the hotel.
The hotel itself was modern and very clean, quiet, with a very good breakfast buffet, and a pleasant, helpful staff. It is on a busy, commercial street, but we were not bothered by noise. We never even heard trains going by from the station only a couple hundred meters away.

“Lovely family-run hotel”
November 27, 2011 from Tripadvisor
My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Al Cason for a romantic getaway. His parents stayed there many years before when he was doing his military service. It’s a perfect place to stay because parking is free and easy (and if you’ve ever traveled around Italy’s historic centers you know what a drag this can be,) it’s clean, cheap and has a great breakfast. You will have a little walk from the city center, and the last half block is not so gorgeous, but I like having a place that’s quiet where I can retreat to after an exciting and tiring day of tourism. it’s family-run, which means they really care about service. For example, someone had smoked in the room we were originally given. When we complained, they changed it right away. When we wanted to see la Capella dei Scrovegni, they called to see if they were open before selling us the day card, when I brought my purse with me by mistake, the receptionist offered to take it up to my room! Padua is an amazing city and this is a great place to stay. We stayed for a two days and definitely didn’t get to see everything. And remember: if you can’t find a room in Venice, Padua is only 40 minutes away by train…
“Friendly helpful staff”
Recensita il 18 ottobre 2011 from Tripadvisor
Spent 3 nights here in October. Great welcome from the minute we arrived-lots of advice on what to see and do in Padova and tips on the train to Venice. It was hot while we were there so the air con was appreciated. Breakfast gave good choices of meats, cheeses, cereal, yoghurt, fruit and various pastries- all very nice. The room we had was on the 3rd floor and had roller shutters which kept the hot sun out during the day and kept the room quiet at night. Padova has lots to see just be aware that some of the attractions close during the middle of the day. Would definitely stay here again.
“The best value hotel we stayed at in Italy”

Friendly helpful English speaking staff – will supply you with a map and are happy to offer advice about what to see, where to eat or how to get to Venice etc. Close to the railway station. Very clean. Internet-connected PC available free in the lobby. Elevator. We had a spacious double room with a comfortable king sized bed on the second floor, with a high ceiling and a good sized bathroom. The room was facing the street but was very quiet. The breakfast selection was by far the best we had during our 3-week stay in Italy – cereals, breads, cheese, sliced ham and salami, fresh fruit, fruit juice, fruit salad, pineapple, stewed prunes, yoghurt, boiled eggs, etc, etc. They also had a selection of gluten-free products, so if you’re coeliac this is one place you can get a good breakfast.
“GOOD VALUE FOR THE PRICE, WONDERFUL STAFF”
Recensita il 28 settembre 2011 da Tripadvisor
Good location, 5 minutes from train station, 10 minutes to town centre or 5 minutes to the tram. Good selection for breakfast to start the day. Hotel is well kept and the rooms were large enough and very clean. This is a family run hotel and they have a lot of pride in their hotel and it shows. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful, especially Lucia. Physically I would say this is a 3 star hotel but the people running it make it a 4 star. We would stay here again and recommend it.
The Hotel is 5 minutes walk from the train station (great if you want to go into the center of Venice).
The rooms were fully air conditioned (luckily as the temperature was 40°C during our stay).
The restaurant was closed while we were there.
The rooms were comfortable, big enough and clean. The staff was very nice.
The breakfast buffet was good!
We enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back here if we went to Venice again.

The Hotel Al Cason had English speaking staff that was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the room was very clean. It was conveniently located within walking distance to the train station and to downtown. For the price, this hotel is very good value. We definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

“Nice Hotel, Really Great Staff”
From Tripadvisor: 19 luglio 2011
Padua was a great place to visit & a lot of why i enjoyed it was due to the staff at this hotel. Clean rooms, good bed, good breakfast, reasonable rates. I look forward to going back.
Really pleasant people at front desk. Super efficient and hospitable. Waiter for breakfast super nice. Would stay again.
When we first arrived at the Al Cason I was a bit unsure because of the location and safety factor, but there was nothing to worry about. The hotel is one of the nicest I have stayed at. All, the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble, the room was excellent and so was the breakfast, there was so much choice. Yes, the railway line is close by, but that wasn’t a problem at all and the walk into Padua was about 10 minutes and was not unsafe at all. In fact had I realised the station was so close would have taken the train to Venice instead of staying one night there. Would definitely stay there again and thank you to all the staff at Al Cason.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and would stay here again. The rooms were clean and sufficient. The location was close to the train station and easy walking distance to the city centre. The restaurant in the hotel was very good – especially the service we received from our server. He was excellent! We would certainly recomment staying at this hotel.
“Wonderful Staff – Excellent Breakfast – Large, Clean Rooms”

Padua is a great base to visit the Veneto, and Hotel Al Cason is a quality hotel, conveniently located near the train station. The knowledgeable and friendly staff helped us plan a number of day trips in the area. Best breakfast buffet in Italy. One recommendation – avoid walking past the Sports Bar at the corner of Viale Codalunga at night.
“Great value / excellent service”

We stayed at Al Cason for 3 nights, as Padua is a centered location in the Veneto region. It turns out it was one of the best hotels of our whole trip. The hotel is clean and comfortable and service was really great – the staff were very attentive and nice to all of us and helped us a lot with restaurant suggestions. Besides that, the hotel is very close to the train station, we could go to downtown in a walking distance (including the Santo Antonio basilica) and parking was free. I recommend the hotel Al Cason to everyone.

Nov 1, 2010 | Trip type: Couples Although this hotel’s architecture could not be described as beautiful, or it’s immediate environs glamorous this is excused by the warm welcome given by the hardworking family that runs it, it’s location and lovely spacious, clean bedrooms and bathrooms. Breakfast is basic and the dinner restaurant was closed 2 of the 3 nights that we were there (weekend…I don’t know if this was usual). We ate at an excellent pizzeria recommended by the staff, about 5 mins walk away.

Oct 24, 2010 | Trip type: Couples Location was fine with us but we might have got a bit lost if it hadn’t been for the very helpful person in the tourist office at the railway station. Perhaps here we should address the issue of the area. The hotel is not in a residential area This is fine during the day but coming back late at night OK for a couple but we did wonder about a single woman walking back or out. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant and were very encouraging to use our Italian (which is not always the case). The room was fine except for the temperature much too warm (it appeared to be some form of underfloor heating) and as we had already been bitten by mosquitoes elsewhere we didn’t open the window. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip good selection and permanently being refreshed.

Oct 23, 2010 | Trip type: Solo travel The hotel was perfect for exploring Padova. It’s just a ten minute walk to the train station and a 15 minute walk to the Scrovegni Chapel. Reserving on line, the hotel even included a ticket to the chapel at a time I had requested. The reception staff are very helpful. My room was fine for the price but a bit stuffy. There is only one computer in the lobby for email. I highly recommend it for budget travelers.

Oct 17, 2010 | Trip type: Couples Recommended by Rick Steves & overall highly rated on TripAdvisor, I selected this hotel for a recent trip to Ravenna, the Dolomites, Padua and Venice. Some reviews mentioned that the location (near the train station) caused concern. We (my wife & I) had none. We walked back late at night and early in the morning and we stayed on the main roads that are fringed by parks. The town is filled with students and the local police are a pleasant, not menacing presence. On the outside, the hotel is rather austere, an unassuming contemporary facade. The rooms are of a generous size, as was our bath. There was an even a small, separate entry hall between the bath and bedroom. The decoration was minimalist, with a low platform (king-size) bed, dark walls and spot-lit. There was a wardrobe and flat-screen TV. The hotel is right by the tracks, but we found the rumble almost soothing and if the windows (modern, double-glazed) were shut there would have been no sound from outside. (Due to the time of year, there was no air conditioning available and it was unusually warm during the days of our visit. Thus, we had to open the windows. This became a slight problem due to late season mosquitos.) There are elevators and an underground garage that was free for parking. It is secured by a gate controlled by the lobby. We were very nearby the famed Scrovegni Chapel and within walking distance of all the sites, the furthest being the church dedicated to St. Anthony. Rick Steves mentions that the hotel is family owned and operated. This really appears to be the situation, with younger family members handling the front desk and with the grandparents seeing that all goes smoothly in the restaurant. The restaurant is a great value, serving wonderful food, in a very inviting room, decorated with contemporary art. The tables are nicely spaced apart. The menu included first and second “plates” as well as wonderful appetizers, salads, and vegetable and dessert carts. The “house wine,” though described on the menu as served in a carafe, was, in fact, a bottled wine that was very pleasant. The breakfast room is a separate facility. It too is very pleasant and the fare served was generous and very tasty. So, if it had been cooler and no need to open the windows or still cooler and the mosquitos were not in evidence or if had been warmer and the air conditioning available, we would have had a perfect stay. Even with that annoyance, the friendliness of the hosts and staff, the quality and value of the food on site (both in the restaurant which serves dinner and the breakfast room), and the appeal of a secured garage that was available at no extra charge, and the proximity of the hotel to the famed sites of Padua are all reasons that I would heartily recommend this hotel and stay at it again if I were to return to Padua.
